3nd Annual Earth Liberationist William C. Rodgers Global Remembrance Day

In your city or town on this December 21, honor William C. Rodgers Global Remembrance Day by organizing and hosting a community event that addresses state repression, environmentalism, and the liberation of all animals, human as well as nonhuman. Host a lecture, a book discussion, candle light vigil, teach-in, roundtable discussion, a film screening, a workshop, a letter-writing exercise, or any event that addresses these social justice issues.

William C. Rodgers
Environmentalist. Earth Liberation Front activist. In December 2005, Rodgers was arrested and imprisoned for alleged acts of ecoterrorism. One such alleged act was the 1998 arson of buildings at a Vail, Colorado, ski resort, which had been on the verge of expanding into an 885-acre wilderness area that was home to the last wild lynx spotted in the state. Overwhelmed by state repression, Rodgers committed suicide in jail on December 21, 2005.
